We’ve been gathering photos of Kevin as we gather our thoughts about this amazing man. Here are a few from Tim Fox and Amy Robertson to enjoy as you consider whether to comment or write your own post.
Each photo has an embedded image description. To avoid too much repetition, Kevin is a white man, most of the time with a short red beard and glasses.
This first set is from the 2015 Colorado Cross-Disability Coalition annual event.

Kevin with some of his favorite people. First up, the one and only Cara Reimann in 2015.

Kevin with his old friend and mentor Dan Wilson in 2000.

Kevin and disability education lawyer extraordinaire Michael Breeskin (from the 2015 CCDC Event).

Kevin with the amazing and capable Robin Stephens in 2021.

When badass disability rights litigator Carrie Lucas graduated from the University of Denver Law School in 2005, I took this photo of Kevin, Carrie and Colorado Cross-Disability Coalition Executive Director Julie Reiskin, then added the caption after I realized how terrifying it should be to anyone who was considering messing with disability rights in Colorado.

In 2007, the Impact Fund honored the case team in Lucas v. Kmart, in which Carrie was the plaintiff and Kevin, Tim and I (and many other wonderful lawyers) were co-counsel. In preparation, they asked us to send a team photo. Of course, we had to goof off a bit before creating an even semi-serious photo. And of course Chinook had to be recognized as part of the team.

Another case team photo, this one at Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre (not a typo; they insist on “re” and not “er”). We had to sue them twice, once with Kevin as plaintiff to challenge the lack of accessible parking (a settlement he later enforced as attorney for Carrie); and a second time to address a ticketing process that effectively excluded people with disabilities from the accessible front row. Here is our litigation team from the second case:

Some who knew Kevin only as a lawyer might not know that he had a stunning singing voice. (Though references to his original adaptation of “Let Us Pee” may have tipped you off.) In 1999, he joined a number of other performers in Nora Fox & Friends (unrelated to and 100% opposed to the weirdly infringingly named “Fox & Friends). Here is Kevin performing with that group, and in a later photo with Nora Fox at the Impact Fund gala in 2007.

And a couple of stray photos of Kevin as we knew him best: brilliant; joyful; snarky; hilarious.
